For generations, grapes have been grown on this land, the Cabernet and Merlot grapes which go into Château Cap de Merle...

Château Cap de Merle  a superbly balanced, appellation contrôlée Lussac-Saint-Émilion, a unique product born of a marriage between a long tradition and a science well ahead of its time.

The vineyard of Château Cap de Merle

In the spring of 1966, Roland Bel bought an estate, which at that time included a vineyard comprising of 3 hectares. These days, this stands at 25 hectares. Today, the business is managed by his two sons, Alain and Jean-Marie. Provided with their own distribution network, they directly market Bel wines, both nationally and internationally, in Europe, the USA, Morocco, and Brazil. Exports amount to 70% or their business activity.

A strong vineyard is assured by Jean-Marie, who carries out rigorous monitoring throughout the year. Managing this constant struggle demands constant attention, and careful planning, on a sometimes daily basis.

With their oenology laboratory, Alain - as well as marketing operator - runs the technological controls of maturing the grape until it reaches the bottle. The objective is to offer a wine of great quality. The vinification process is adapted to the vintage, to safeguard the typicity of the region and maintain a homogeneity between the vintages.
